The annual Black Hills ARC ham radio auction and flea market
is less than
three weeks away.
It is scheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Canyon Lake Senior
Citizen's Center, 2900 Canyon Lake Drive, Rapid City, SD. This is the
very
same location as the last several years.
Doors will open at 9 AM MST. At that time, you may start bringing items
in.
The cost for flea market tables is $5 per table. Please pay the club
treasurer, in advance, for tables. If you have heavy items, please bring
some cardboard, to protect the table tops.
The auction will begin at noon. Anyone participating (buying or selling)
in
the auction will need to have a number. The treasurer will supply these.
Items to be auctioned must be clearly marked with the seller number. The
club will take a 10% commission on all items auctioned. At the end of the
auction, the amount of money you owe, or is owed to
you, will be calculated
as follows: (how much you sold) X 0.9 minus (how much you bought). If you
owe money, please pay the treasurer before leaving. If the club owes you
money, and you stick around, you will be given a check. If you choose to
leave earlier, a check will be mailed to you. We will have your address
from when you registered to get a buyer/seller number.
Please be nearby, when your items are being auctioned, as questions always
seem to come up. For those bidding on items:
please have your buyer/seller
number clearly visible. That's how we keep track of who bought
what.
As always, help will be appreciated in moving auction items
to the stage and
then to the new owners. Also, help will be needed to clean up and
put away
tables, etc. And, of course, we need volunteers to keep track of the
buyer/seller cards as items are sold.
It's always great to have eyeball QSOs with seldom-seen faces. Hope you
can
join us!

The Black
Hills Amateur Radio Club Dinner

Saturday, February 20, 2010 (same day as the auction/flea market)
at
the Eagle's Lodge

"Attitude adjustment" will begin at 5:30 PM. A wide variety of
soft drinks,
bottled and draft beers and cocktails are available at VERY reasonable
prices. The Eagle's Lodge does not accept credit cards. The best solution
would be to bring cash for beverages and/or a checkbook for meals.
There will be a buffet menu, served at 6:30 PM, consisting of:
Roast beef
Fried chicken
California blend vegetables
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Dinner rolls
Dessert
& Coffee
The cost is $12.00 per person plus whatever tip you leave for the severs
If you're planning to attend, I need to know. Please send an e-mail to:
kzerocx@rap.midco.net and put BHARC DINNER
in the subject line. It will
automatically route to a folder in my computer. In the body of the e-mail,
indicate your name & call sign and how many in your party. If you
cannot
e-mail your request, call 605-343-6739 and leave that information on my
voice mail.
I need to give the Eagle's Lodge a final head count by Monday, February
15th, 2010.
It was a good time, last year. Hopefully, you, and yours, can join us
this
year.
